We got off to a great start; scoring 17 points in the 6 minutes of the game! We then didn't score for the next 7 minutes, while Essex drew score closer. In the first 6 minutes, we made good decisions with the ball, moved our feet on defense, hustled, pushed the ball up the floor, rebounded great, and put points on the board. From that point until the last minute of the game, we learned we cannot let up! In fact, we only scored 4 points and committed 7 fouls in the 2nd quarter. The Essex Trojans battle back to within 1 point (30-29) with 1 minute left to play in the game. The Vikes woke up and scored their last 8 points in the last minute by turning steals into lay-ups and making a couple of freethrows.

Our screening is improving along with our defense. Our shot selection was excellent. Great unselfish effort by everyone. We need to work on free throws!!

Game 3 vs Corning, Monday, December 10, 2007

| Stanton | 8 | 15 | 11 | 14 | 48 |
| Corning | 6 | 8 | 9 | 10 | 33 |
Sloppy ball handling on the passing and receiving end contributed to a slow start in the first quarter. Corning's post play challenged our off ball and helpside defense. Corning scored 28-33 points by their post players. Overall, we played well with a variety of new player combinations on the floor. Our next game (4th game) is scheduled for Saturday, January 5, 2008 vs Essex @ Essex. This is a make-up game rescheduled from Saturday, December 1. Our freethrow percentage below is still in need of improvement.

Game 5 vs Farragut, Thursday, January 10, 2008

We were able to play all 12 athletes that dressed as we built a 15-pt lead by the end of the 3rd quarter. Both the first and second groups of 5 got significant playing time and played well on both ends of the floor. We struggled a little on the offensive end of the floor with many turnovers and violations. The Admirals did a nice job hitting their open players for some good looks at the basket throughout the game. Our freethrow shooting woes continue in the JV ranks.

Game 6 vs East Mills, Monday, January 21, 2008
| Scoring by Quarters | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | Final |
| Stanton | 4 | 8 | 12 | 15 | 39 |
| East Mills | 8 | 11 | 7 | 8 | 34 |
Wow! What a crazy game. East Mills forced us to play on our heels throughout the first half and most of the 3rd quarter before we were able to turn the corner and begin playing Viking basketball. We were down 26-16 with 4:00 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. From there, we went on a 18-3 run to take the lead 34-29 with 4 minutes left in the game. All 14 Vikings that dressed for the game got some playing time in the last 5 minutes and held on to our 5-point lead.

Game 7 vs Bedford, Monday, February 11, 2008
| Scoring by Quarters | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | Final |
| Stanton | 4 | 4 | 8 | 9 | 25 |
| Bedford | 6 | 9 | 16 | 19 | 50 |
We hadn't played for 3 weeks and it showed in a BIG way. This was Bedford's 15th game, our 7th. We did not push the ball up the floor looking for opportunities. We did not out-hustle Bulldogs. Our rebounding was unaggressive and our overall defense lacked focus. Players off the bench got significant playing time and played well.
