*In the first 6:00 of 3rd quarter, our first and second team offense gained 204 yards and 3 TD’s, but gave up one TD on a lost fumble; the defense only played 6 plays allowing Villisca -4 yards; special teams returned a punt for TD, but allowed Villisca a TD on a KO. The score was 50-12 when the 1st and 2nd teams retired for the game.
DEFENSE!! In the first 3 quarters, the BLACK and RED DEFENSE- DID NOT GIVE UP A TOUCHDOWN!! They recovered 2 fumbles; and held Villisca to -12 yards on 25 plays (12 plays for a loss, 5 plays no gain). The green and blue defensive units allowed Villisca to score several times late in the 3rd quarter and throughout the 4th quarter. Contrary to Bluejay belief, the game was not even remotely as close as the score indicates, nor were the Vikings in jeopardy of losing. The Bluejay defense did have the Viking offense flustered in the first half. However, the Vikings came out in the third quarter and played like they had all season. The *note above accurately reflects what the 1st and 2nd team offense was capable of doing.
