ACADEMICS and Eligibility
Please check on your son’s classroom status. Mid-term is in a few days, Tuesday, September 23. Ineligibility will begin Wednesday. An athlete with a failing grade would be ineligible for the South Page game. In order to stay eligible and participate, an athlete must be passing ALL classes. We have been reminding them that academics come first AND if they need to miss practice (2:32-3:21) in order to get help from a teacher—that is fine! In addition, we strongly encourage them to be responsible enough to take care of their assignments on time and not get themselves into a position where they will need to miss practice. For more detailed information about eligibility/ineligibility, please refer the to student handbook.
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?
The junior high football season is winding down! We only have 2 ½ weeks left! We have come a long way since camp in August! We look forward to continued improvement in each practice and game right up to the last day.

Team and Individual Pictures
Hopefully your son has taken home his pictures that were handed out this week. The buttons provided by the Stanton Booster Club were included. If anyone did not order the team picture, you can go to the junior high football homepage and make as many copies of the exact picture as you would like.
Attendance is a MUST to be prepared!!
Just missing one practice and returning the next day does not leave you where you left off; it puts you behind the rest of the team. Not only is the absent athlete behind, but the team is also less than what it could have been had the absent player been in practice to give his teammates what he has to offer. With 100% attendance in practice, we would have 13 athletes (enough to scrimmage).
Game DVD/Video
Thank you, Carolyn Johnson, for taping last week’s game vs Farragut. The athletes used it during homeroom this week to review and learn from.
I will need a volunteer once again this week to tape the game.
Also, if anyone would like a copy of the games that get recorded, please send a blank DVD to school and I can make a copy for you.
WEDDING BELLS
A busy/exciting weekend ahead. Good luck to the Marshall and Strickland families as you celebrate marriages in your family and get to spend some time with family and friends. Be sure to get enough rest Sunday evening to be ready for school and the game on Monday.
