Vikings 2-0-1 vs South Page ?-?
Opponent: South Page Rebels
Game Time: 4:00-5:30
Game Site:
College Springs, IA
Bus Departure: 2:45
LESS THAN a dozen
Going into our 4th game, we have fewer players than I had hoped. We have lost Cody Johnson for the season due to an injury to his knee, which brings the count down to 12 healthy athletes. However, we are also losing another athlete for at least one game due to ineligibility, taking our eligible number of athletes down to 11.
HOMECOMING WEEK / WEEKEND
The athletes have been practicing hard and have been better focused this week to earn a day off. We will be taking Friday afternoon off. WE WILL HAVE A.M. CONDITIONING FRIDAY MORNING, but we will not be holding practice after school/pancakes/parade etc. this year. Please use the time Friday and over the weekend to recover and stay healthy! Please call me ASAP Monday morning if you are not going to be in school due to sickness. 829-2162

MISSION: AN UNDEFEATED SEASON
Each football season, it is my goal to coach an undefeated team. I challenge the team to set the same goal for themselves. They are good goals and help create focus on each of our parts to do those things that will make us the best we can be. So far this season, we are on track with only two games left. However, I have visited with the team about my concern for the challenges we will be facing next year IF our 7th graders do not show more improvement in the 2 weeks of practice and in our last 2 games. We need quality minutes from our 7th graders to season them for next year. Unfortunately, up through our last game, I have several athletes who are struggling with learning the fundamentals of both the offense and the defense.
MY CHALLENGE TO ATHLETES and PARENTS
Parents, please take an active interest in what your son is learning about the sport of football each day. Believe me, there is something NEW in each practice, and unfortunately, this year we have had to spend WAY TOO MUCH time re-teaching simple concepts. Athletes, please focus each day to come up something new you have learned in each practice so that you have something to report when your parent(s) ask.
